3.75 stars.

A cute and charming read. The perfect winter romance to cozy up with. Noelle has the world on her shoulders. We love a story about a woman finding her voice & taking risks to do things she loves. The coincidences in this book almost got to be a little too much towards the end. Moving it almost to the realm of improbable. But I do like the talk of fate here.

Also seems unfair how many doctors this woman attracts. Overall a really cute winter read.

This book grew on and i’m by the end I really liked it. I was surprised by the ending but It brought everything full circle for the characters. I may consider re-reading it but wouldn’t every year.  Lots of wintery fluff in the beginning.

My expectations for this one were blown away! I really enjoyed the take on fate and the incorporation of the Chinese proverb of the red thread. The characters were so enjoyable (even though at times I wanted to shake them and scream "what are you doing?!"), and I loved seeing not only the relationships in this one grow, but also the individuals grow past their "flaws".

I was so excited to read a serendipitous romance, but I was so disappointed.

I found the plot very merandering, clunky and confusing. The romance was obviously a slow burn but with zero witty banter, chemistry, or development to keep my interest.

There’s also only so much I can take of a main character mentioning their ex constantly.

It was so hard to read a book where the main character not only has a selfish sibling that won’t help out with their sick mother, but is also a doormat to basically everyone.

Review of Eight Perfect Hours by Lia Louis:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Noelle finds herself stranded on a highway in the middle of a blizzard but quickly ends up in the company of Sam. The two hit it off but when the roads clear, they go their separate ways. That is until they keep unexpectedly running into each other. Is it just coincidence or fate?

I absolutely adored this book and unlike most contemporary romances where you typically know what’s going to happen and how it will end - I could not anticipate any of the connections or Sam and Noelle’s casual run-ins. This is literally the perfect “Hallmark-esque” book and it just hit the spot for me. It’s also more than the fluffiness you’d typically get in this genre as it ties in family relationships, familial health challenges, and overcoming grief and loss. It’s deep yet satisfyingly lovely and that’s about all I can say about it. I highly recommend though you should know that it’s not actually a Christmas/holiday book as it’s set in the new year but you still get those cozy, wintry vibes.

Thank you @AtriaBooks [#partner] for gifting me with an early readers copy in exchange for an independent and honest review! I was hoping to read this last July for Christmas in July but life just happened and I never got around to it but I’m glad I finally picked it up!

This one grew on me. I really didn't like Noelle at first and God, don't get me started on fucking Ed. But, I was really proud of the progress Noelle made in finding herself, taking chances, and really living her life. Sam was a gem. He and Noelle had great chemistry! Lia did a great job of genuinely making them feel like soulmates - the two ends of an invisible red thread. Overall, a cute story.
