Starting to become a bit formula, but still an enjoyable read.

The box in the woods è una sorta di libro spin-off della famosa serie mystery YA Truly Devious.

La trilogia originaria mi era piaciuta anche se non ho mai troppo condiviso l'hype che lo accerchiava. Secondo me due volumi erano sufficienti e la scelta del colpevole un po' tirata fuori.

Ecco qua le mie perplessità sono continuate

Book four/first standalone book in the Truly Devious series. Stevie Bell is in a murdery summer camp and I’m so into this book that I’m almost done with it! Yet still have no clue how she’ll solve the case. That’s when you know a mystery is well done.

Enjoyed this much more than the others in the series. The author is very good at nailing the creepy vibes and creating interesting characters, and as usual the story was fun and engaging to listen to. The main issue I had with the book was that it felt kind of impossible for the reader to guess the actual murderer or their motive because
Spoilerthey were never really written into the story in the first place, so we only really learned about their involvement via deux ex machina/info dump at the end
. Because of that, the ending fell a bit flat for me, especially as I'd figured out most of the rest of it early on.
