Brenna was so annoying. The female narrator also really annoyed me so the combo wasn’t great. I also thoroughly dislike a miscommunication trope. So there’s that.

Okay, I admit I loved it.
This series is getting better and better.
The drama and fallout were nicely handled, especially because instead of "bam! separation - bam! sudden wedding!" they stay close and work through their problems? FUCKING FINALLY!!
Great sex too, great chemistry, Brenna is a powerhouse and I'm getting very attached to the VIP universe and its characters.

Like many, I've been waiting YEARS for this book. And it was definitely worth the wait because I loved this sooo much!
I love how absolutely whipped Rye is for Brenna. This is a trope that I love so much and I especially love how it was so obviously from the first page that he has been low-key in love with her since they first met over a decade ago.
I do wish some plot stuff was tied up a bit more, but overall I had such a great time with this book and I can't wait for Whip's book! I'm hoping he'll end up with a certain assistant *cough* Jules *cough*.

IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE. TURN IT UP
omg omg omg i’ve been waiting for ryebrenna bc the tension in the other books and the lead up to this book WORTH IT
also a whip book when?
i just knew i loved the friends w benefits trope and getting to see everyone else from the previous books happy and together it makes my heart happy <3
however at the same time when it brought up topics from the previous books my heart also broke bc that means i basically read how what had happened affected each character and boy did that hurt to read
i love this universe so much ahhh i can’t believe i’m done

“Never be afraid to fly, Bren. Even if it takes you from all you know.”
“Where you are is where I want to be.”
**Synopsis:**
Brenna wants great sex. That’s it. Nothing more.
~ ”It’s not the daily minutiae of a relationship I crave, but the simple physical connection. I want to be wanted. Craved above all things. Needed with a breathless devotion. I want to be seen, not just as a quick fix—but as something essential. And I want to crave someone too. I want to learn their body, know what sets them off, and what brings them to their knees. To own and be owned.”
When Rye overhears that admission he strikes a bargain with Brenna. Although she fights it for a hot minute, ultimately they settle on some rules and begin their quest for great sex.
~ “I want it to be me,” I blurt without any finesse. I breathe deep and say more calmly, “I want to be the one you use.”
~ “Neither one of us has the time or the inclination to go looking for a real relationship, but we both need physical release and the pleasure of touch or the isolation of our lives starts getting to us.”
Of course, the rules start to get broken and feelings get into the mix and the casual thing they wanted turns into much more.
~ “The attraction between us was always there. You can deny it if you want, but it’s true. We’ve been like two magnets facing south, repelling because we can’t do anything else. Then I overheard what you needed, and I flipped north. Toward you.”
**The following are my thoughts about this book: **
* * in Chapter 1 I had to look up a word. Thankfully, that was just a one-off thing. I understood the rest of the words in the book, so I didn’t get “tetchy” (i.e. irritated)

I absolutely fell in love with Rye and Brenna. The barbs thrown between them, the sweet and supportive nature of their love, and the steaminess in the bedroom is the perfect romance trifecta.
Rye is absolutely so sweet. His heart was so pure, I couldn’t help but fall for this man. It was endearing how much he loved Brenna. The internal conflicts he has were also relatable, wanting to feel fulfilled in life, worrying as your future you planned for shifts and changes, and worrying about putting your heart in the line. I wanted so much for him to be happy
Brenna is closed off emotionally, but it isn’t severe. She is just protecting her heart from past traumas and embarrassments. I loved seeing her walls be torn down by Rye and the happiness that exuded once he did. Like Rye, she has similar discontentment with her life, struggling with her future and also putting her heart on the line. I love the Brenna did it her way, though, just like she has her whole life.
This romance was really sweet and steamy. Rye was so lovable and charming and Brenna was this fierce PR woman. Their chemistry in and out of the bedroom was palpable. What I loved most though was the theme that centered around taking chances, spreading your wings and flying, searching for fulfillment and happiness, and knowing that those you love will be by your side.
The VIP standalone series continues to be one of my favorites from Kristen Callihan. It is filled with wonderful life lessons, steamy romances and a ton of heart.
