This was SO bad. I hate/spite read it until the end. There were really smutty scenes between Adrian and Isolde, but the lack of personality and character building made the romance a dud.

🌶️🌶️No, I had way too many questions left in answered when I feel like they easily could have been answered. I love the characters and the world and the plot but this didn’t really cover much of that.

I didn’t enjoy this as much as the first. I think where it falls apart for me was the reveal of the traitor (because I’d didnt like who it ended up being) and how the end feels kind of rushed. There’s all these revelations about everything and then it just kind of…ends😅 It felt like there was more to the story even though it’s marketed as a duology.

Still, I did enjoy my time with this series—I will be reading more of Scarlett St. Clair’s works soon—and I will be reading the prequel novella when that comes out❤️

Oh, this book has a nasty case of second-book syndrome. It was awful, which is so disappointing after enjoying book one yesterday.   I should have DNF'ed earlier on. There is no redemption for any of the characters. I won't be reading anything else that comes from this series.

That moment when you'r  reading a book and realise that the FMC is not your type of woman, for me that was when my favourite (side) character tries to kill the FMC, and you're actually hoping she dies......
