“Home is where the heart is.”

No matter who you are and where you are in the world, your home will always be that place where you have the deepest feelings of love, affection, and happy memories.

Babushka is Homesick is a heartwarming picture book of love, family, and the memories that make up a home.

Karina’s babushka (grandmother) is getting ready to return to her home country of Ukraine. As the date of babushka’s departure draws near, she develops feelings of apprehension. After all, it has been many years since she’s lived in Ukraine.

Once back in Ukraine, babushka recollects how her country was while growing up — the food, the shops, and the countryside. So much has changed since her childhood, and the country she had called home is now just a faded memory. Her real home, she realizes is where her grandchildren play, laugh, love, and create memories for her to cherish now and forever. Five loving stars. A wonderful book to read to youngsters during family time.

I received a digital copy of the book from Blackberry Book Tours. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

Babushka is returning home to the Ukraine, after being gone since she was a child. She isn't sure what to expect and when she sees how much it has changed she comes to realize she is homesick. Home, for her, is where her hear lies, which is with her family and her grandbabies. She enjoys the rest of her time visiting the Ukraine but is happy when she returns home.

What a beautiful story that is a sweet reminder to all of us that "Home is where the heart is". I know I'm always happiest when surrounded by family. What a great message to share with our littles. Another beautiful book I will be sharing with my grandbabies and one I definitely recommend.
