I've found Keira Andrews's books to be pretty hit or miss for me, and this one was closer to a miss (but apparently it was her debut - not to mention published back in 2006! - so I'm not surprised it wasn't as strong as some of her other books). The tennis part was interesting, but some of the writing was a bit melodramatic and the dialogue a bit cringy at times; I wound up getting about 70% in and then skimming through to the end.
If you're looking for a stronger romance from Andrews, would definitely check out Kiss and Cry instead!

There were parts I like and some I didn’t. I think the way this was written you can see how much Kiera Andrews has improved. The way this was written was very stilted so I couldn’t connect with the characters as much as I wanted to. I think if I didn’t have the audio it would have been a DNF back at chapter 5…
But I am glad I stuck it out..kinda. Jesse deserved better and Luke needed to get his head out of his ass… but overall a good tennis read.. haven’t read many of those!

Luke is quite toxic and then suddenly has a change of heart.

Poorly written… it felt like being dropped into the middle of a story, not at the beginning of one. There was no sense of attraction at all, just suddenly a kiss that was supposed to make me feel invested?

LOVE MATCH was another great romance by Keira Andrews. Although I have to say I know nothing about tennis so I had no idea what was going on during most of the actual game play scenes, lol, but that's ok. I liked both Luke and Jesse and I was happy to see them finally work things out after some very angsty ups and downs. This is told completely from Luke's POV so we get a front row seat to his struggle over staying in the closet as well as his desire to win another Grand Slam before he gets too old to be competitive. I especially Jesse and I wish we had his POV too; he was so sweet, earnest, and just ready to embrace the world and take it as came. Together these two were on fire and their chemistry sizzled off the page.
