some really sweet parts in this book that feel very cinematic with multiple stories weaving throughout at points from various POVs.
Ending was alright, but i think it did a good jon of being a book that really raises the stakes for future books in the series.

I was just constantly going "Who are these new characters, and why should I care???" Could have done without the time travel and stuff

John French has done, yet again, an exceptional job. These books continue to storm toward their conclusion and the quality of the writing continues to be next level. It was shocking, emotional, exciting, twisting, mind-blowing. It took us forward in this epic tale in a wonderful manner. I go to the next book knowing the quality will continue. The pace and bar are well set!

After the epic events of the previous book in the series (Saturnine) this was a just ok. Though the Traitor Titans have landed on Terra and are closing on the walls of the Imperial Palace, the story was not as monumental as as it should have been.
I think this is because a lot of the book seems to be building on stories of 'lesser' characters and I hope this will have a big pay off in the later books in the series. Unfortunately in this book it seemed to be more filler than driving the plot forward.
Let's hope it picks up again in the final few books of the series!
