It was another one of those rare times that I didn't enjoy a LaNora book.
They all annoyed me at some point, but Willa was just 'nails on a chalkboard' insufferable. How are you holding a grudge against your half-sisters because the father you all share, who treated you all like shit, sending their mothers away with them when they were babies. Grow up, bitch. Please.

I have read many books by Nora Roberts under her real name and pen name and I continue to read them because they do not disappoint. I love how Roberts is able to create different scenarios and keep her stories interesting and Montana Sky was no different. She brought in murder mystery with a mix of what I can only imagine is a beautiful and stunning place where cowboys still roam. I don't know much about ranching, and I doubt I would ever pull up my roots to move out and try, but Roberts paints the beauties with the hardships in such a way that makes me want to at least try.

This is the first Nora Roberts book I’ve read where I was surprised by the main “bad guy”. My main problem with finding out the true “bad guy” though seems to have quite a few holes in the plotline. So I docked it 1 star.
Otherwise, I would have liked this book more if it wasn’t for the not PC actions/phrases and the graphic detail of the murders and thoughts of the “bad guy”. If I could take those out, I would have liked it more also. Granted this book was written well before the politically correct movements where even something small is taken out of context. I just don’t do well with graphic nature details of gore, so another star docked.

I liked this book a lot- read it in a day…. However I have some issues.
1. The misogyny- both in how people spoke to the MC and the snide remarks about a female boss.
2. The two MCs- the ranchers- the way the fought and spoke to each other throughout the whole book did not scream love to me.
As a note- this book is horribly graphic so be warned.

Utterly predictable in many ways, completely took me by surprise in others. A book club read I was surprised I enjoyed so much. The end felt rushed and unsatisfying; it was like the author got to the climax and went "ok now we're done." Went into it expecting a light-hearted romance and wasn't prepares for the dark mystery. Kept the book compelling. I'd recommend!

A classic, sturdy romance. Entertaining, but not particularly memorable.
