I'm not surprised that House of Pounding Hearts was even better than House of Beating Wings but it most definitely was. The banter, tension, and all around chemistry between our FMC and MMC was absolute perfection. I don't even have the words to describe how much I'm loving this series. House of Striking Oaths can't come fast enough!

I wanted to love this book as much as the first in the series but I couldn’t get over how annoying the FMC is for 50% of the book. All of her character growth in the first book just went down the drain in this one.

So glad this book grew up and the characters along with it! Loving the series! I do hate that Fallon can’t catch a break, every time she tries to have a normal day…it all goes to hell in a hand basket. For the record, I hate Browyn.

Okay. I was iffy on continuing the series but I felt a slump coming, so I decided to continue. In the first book, I found Fallon to be extremely selfish, naive, and lowkey difficult to enjoy.
However.
The character development from book 1 to this book was extremely evident. Though still naive, she was quickly becoming what I considered to be worthy to co-run a kingdom.
The enemies to lovers and slow burn was more epic in this book. Lore pissed me off with a certain princess, and he kept quiet and listened to her comments without any reassurances.
Dante pissed me off more. Because what the fuck is he doing? Apparently nothing productive imo.

Anyways, if you thought the first book was okay, keep reading. I’m obsessed with this series and hooked now
