I know Fallon is meant to be very naive and struggling to grasp the new normal of the world, but it took her so long to realize some things that it drive me nuts. I also was pissed that Lore just never corrected her. But when they did get together and the story really picked up, it was awesome.

Gah! This series is SO GOOD! There was some unfortunate withholding of information/misunderstandings that had me screaming, “JUST TELL HER ALREADY!” and Fallon was infuriatingly stubborn for the first 3/4 of the book (kind of understandable, but still), but I seriously CANNOT get enough of this story! On to book three!

While HoBW was quite slow-paced, this book really kicks it up a notch after about halfway through. The plot deepens, the politics are much more complex than initially anticipated, and the slow burn romance finally pays off.
