The ending was timely and well articulated in the flow of the narrative; it's refreshing to read a story that is so certain of itself and can present that until the very end. The characters are admirable, the story is real, overall the book is a wonderful mixture of people and places.

I read this novella as my final book of 2018. Only 125 pages, but covers Australian immigration, racism, motherhood, second languages, the meaning of self sufficiency and work. I am not sure yet if it's a 4 or 5 star, but either way, it's really quite good.
