WHOA!
Ok so I was confused for like the first 82% of this book. While I enjoyed it, I just couldn't piece it together and then BAM!!!! A good/great BAM! but then WHOA again and I need more. Like really how can it end like THAT?????? So many more questions.
I will not really review this so as not to give it away/spoil. But you need to read this book.

I may have become a lazy reader, but this jumping back and forth isn't getting me anywhere.
Throw in another point of view and I'm not liking the ending I'm predicting.
I'm bored. Beard is savage and even with his whole I love screams demeanor, it's not holding my interest.
So read on my friends who like an erotic and avoid if your looking for a romance.
DNF on page 256.

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- Excellent - Highly Recommended
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - A good, solid read
3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - An okay read
2 ⭐️⭐️ - Meh
1 ⭐️ - Not my cup of tea
Mature Adult Content : Readers should be 18+ (contains violence, sexual situations, dark themes) This book is not every anyone who cannot handle cussing and intense situations.
Marni Mann... what did I just read??
This book was captivating, dark (very dark), and so full of twists and turns that I couldn't put it down. So many people and so many stories that all connect and will make you say "WTF?"

I like dark romance usually, and maybe it's because I didn't read the book that preceded this - but I didn't enjoy this one. I don't think there was enough with the 'couple' to warrant this as being called a 'romance' dark or otherwise. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed and a whole lot confused. I guess this just wasn't my cup of tea. The payoff was undercut just about two pages later. I won't be seeking the rest in this series.

"Love was a feeling I'd never felt before. I didn't know it's symptoms, its side effects. I didn't know the depth it could reach, how it could trigger so many other emotions, how it influenced all of my decisions. But it had done just that, and the stronger it grew-something I hadn't known was possible either- the more of it consumed me."
Holy shit. Just holy shit. What a TOTAL mind-fuck of a book. I honestly DID NOT see any of the twists in the book coming! And that ending...just wow. Talk about a book hangover!

Tyler was such a strong heroine and Beard was one hot and messed up Alpha. What I loved the most was that you honestly are left in the dark during most of the book as you are following the lives of these two people. I loved that I had NO IDEA what direction the book was going to go in or what was going to happen to the people that characters that you are reading about.
I love me some dark books, and this one did not disappoint. I highly recommend this book to all of my fellow dark romance/erotica junkies!

Jae + Beard + Tyler... I loved it? Don’t know why per day but it was definitely one that had me hooked, and it’s usually not my type of dark romance. I will say the ending with Shank felt soooo unnecessary and forced. There was no hint of that and the fact that it happened was more weird that surprising.
*Update* So I didn't realize Monster (Animal #2) should be read after this one I figured they were standalones, so that will explain the ending with Shank and wtf happened in between.

Wait! What? WTH did I just read?! Wow.....
This book had me on the edge of my seat from the very start. It was raw, gritty, suspenseful, and carnal. It was told from several pov's and it effortlessly alternated from past to present sequence keeping me guessing what was really happening. Ms Mann expertly weaved a dark, seductive tale about very flawed and damaged characters making us feel scandalized, horror, confusion, and yet compassion, empathy, and so much more. I kept trying to figure out where this story was going, and even coming close, I never saw the twists this story would take. I am still reeling days after the jaw dropping end. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of dark, edgy, carnal stories that mess with your mind and takes you on a twisty, thrilling journey you won't forget!

WOW, starting this book I knew straight away I was stepping into a weird twisted world but I could never have guessed how twisted it would get.
So Beard runs this weird prison type place in Venezuela with his two best friends, they are hired to make people confess to things or to make them disappear. They use some very 'yucky' methods to get people to talk, some of it had me gagging.

Tyler's family was not well off and had always wanted her to be boy hence her name. She did not get affection and attention from her family so when it was time for college she worked hard and got a full scholarship to a college as far from her Kansas home as possible. The only person Tyler knows at college is her roommate, after constantly annoying her to go out to 'party' Tyler gives in. Little does she know that one night will change her life forever.
I found this a little slow at times, with there being so much in the story needing to be explained and so many side stories going on. I was weirded out and a little confused at first by the change in time between Tylers and Beards chapters. Another reason why I liked it.

The Whole Achurdy thing was a tad unrealistic and far fetched for me but I suppose opening a death/torture prison on an island in Venezuela is too. In saying that it it didn't stop me enjoying this twisted ride. I think I enjoyed it more because of how original it was and each new bit made you think. It was like a puzzle and I will admit I only managed to figure out one piece of it before the end.
I would not call this book just 'dark',it was more like a twisted and gross at times mystery read. You know how sometimes there is just one thing in a book you can't get past? Well in this one its 'The Babies'
If you're like me and like to figure out all the answers as you read, then you'll be a mess with this one. My advice just read it, take it all in as you go then enjoy the total mindfuck it gives you at the end. It will give you the answers to the hundred questions you'll have while reading it. It will leave you with one question, that question can only be answered by another book.
Will there be another book??

When I released, his nipple shot across the room, hitting the cement wall and dropping to the floor.

Oh my God
It is 3am and I’m basically freaking out right now. This book was so crazy . Oh my god. Seriously, I am never going to be able to sleep right now. Twisted and dirty and everything I didn’t realize I wanted to read. Holy moly. My mind is blown.
