The stories were (once again) chilling, horrific, and macabre. I had more favourite stories from the second volume compared to the first one, because I found it to be more interesting and disturbing.

But despite how great the stories were (compared to the first one), I gave this one a slightly lower rating because of the misogynistic tones portrayed. I noticed it in the first book, but I brushed it off, thinking "it's a collection of horror stories with terrible people, surely it's like finding fork in a kitchen." But when it became a pattern, I felt a little miffed about it. Thus, no full 5 stars this time.

My ratings from fave to least fave stories would be: Jacqueline Ess:Her Will and Testament>Dread>Hell's Event>The Skins of the Fathers>New Murders in the Rue Morgue.
