Riveting and magical. This story takes you into the world of witches and magic. Not everyone is as they seem. The story starts slow, but if you push through with the first ten chapters it will quickly pick up. Even as the summary stated that Vittoria would be murder, there's still an element of surprise there. Vittoria was such a strong character. There are not many twists or thriller elements, but rather a nice story of the coming of age of witches.

Thank you to JIMMY PATTERSON publishing and NetGalley for letting me read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly this was a filler book, an in between option that wasn’t too heavy. The FMC is kind of annoying and the world building left much to be desired, but I own the physical copy of book 2 & 3, so I will finish the series.

the all of a sudden vampire and werewolf ruined the aesthetic i thought the book was going for. the protagonist annoyed me most of the time and i didn’t like her decisions.
like why was she convinced her sister was killed by a witch hunter when she watched some dude stand over her dead body and eat her blood?
and romance? what romance? their banter and flirting(?) didn’t hit for me. it fell flat. i felt like there was zero spark between them and then it ended so weirdly. and the reveal was so lackluster and predictable. most of the time i was really confused. i listened to the audiobook and the woman did a really good job especially with the accents. i won’t be reading the rest of the series but i unfortunately purchased a physical copy. not for me.

Didn’t hate it. Didn’t love it. The writing is kind of….choppy? Stilted? Idk. I thought it was a translated book at first

Meh, I almost DNF'd....but, I wanted to see if it would get better, or exciting...and it didn't.

I wanted to like this book, the witchy vibes was the only thing that kept me clinging on...I do not think I'll be continuing this series....I had such high hopes for this one! Sadday...

For the people that LOVED this, please explain why..

Yep, yep, yep. I loved this number. If you're debating giving it a go, I recommend! It has a lot of elements going for it: the writing is great, the characters are interesting, and the mystery keeps you hooked. Only thing that could have kicked it to five starts was the romance! It was definitely a slow burn, and I'm left unsure where it will go in book two. The tension and banter between them was great though.

First half was slow to get through, but the second half definitely picked up pace! Im enjoying the food aspect and may have to try a few of the dishes!
