Keeps getting better

I love how the story is building and building up like the magic between the characters. I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

Fun

U really enjoy the humor thrown in throughout these books. Penny is figuring things out and then you add in Reagan. Crazy happens.

Idk what went wrong with this series. I really disliked book one, but gave this one a shot hoping the author might have ironed out some of the weird character dynamics. Unfortunately, no.

Emery sucks. Penny’s not the type of character the author usually writes (cinnamon roll adjacent, I would say), and I think maybe she doesn’t have this dynamic handled as well as she does two enormous badasses who happen to fall in love. Emery is cloying and full of himself, but nobody in either book calls him out on it. Penny’s mom is all rigid and unreasonable, but even she fawns over this dude.

He’s not that special. He has zero personality. And he laughs at everything Penny says *way* too much. She’s not that funny.

I like Penny. I of course love Reagan and the Bankses. Karen is an absolute gem. But even Darius is out of character in this (I’m sure it’s all setup for the next trilogy, but it was incredibly disappointing).

Anyway. Ugh. Love the author. Love the demon days series as a whole. Not a huge fan of this trilogy

Sure Penny does annoy a little, but I've really read worse where the character thinks the exact same words so much it's just terrible.
I enjoy her funny cussing.

I liked it enough to finish the trilogy, but liked Natural Witch a lot more!

Things I liked:
  1. As always the battle scenes are fantastic
  2. A lot less mentioning of the term “turd swallop”
  3. Regan was mostly funny

Things I didn’t like:
  1. The losing the V card scene was ick
  2. Regan was occasionally annoying
  3. The L word too soon

Natural book 5

Natural Mage was necessary connection between book 4 and the next few books. We meet new characters and we begin to see just how strong the relationships become between many of the characters. We find out new talents and watch as new capabilities are constructed. I love Red and Steve! I’m hoping to learn more about the shifters in the upcoming books! Enjoy this bridge of. Story.

As usual, the second book in a trilogy is less interesting and the main characters are busy with something that was just thrown at them to bridge the final battle in the third book. I wonder if these are sold to publishers in packs of three, which tends to make the second a weaker book. Penny isn't as strong and in control as in the first book, which is a pity. Looking forward to seeing her strong character back in the third book, as well as the plot advancing.

Absolutely amazing!
Spent a good chunk of time laughing at the antics of the characters and how they treat each other. Great storytelling and easy to follow
