Like whaaat, I forgot that this shit is so sloooow. The start of this book is so unbelievably boring it's insane, like why are we learning how Jarre got into the army, I don't give a rat's ass about that. What was I cooking when I thought this was the best book in this series I just really wanna know.

Adiós, Yen, Triss, Milva, Regis, Vesemir, Yarpen, Cahir, ...

Holy crap! This last book is just WILD! I'm still processing it all. I'm so sad about so much. I wish it was longer. I do have a few questions about some things....also what was that ending??!! I do like ambiguous endings though...this series is so good.

What the hell was that? Half of the book wasn’t necessary.

A very interesting end to the series. I think it’s very interesting how much a series by a Polish author ends up incorporating Celtic mythology and British legends (King Arthur).
I also found the ending a little dissatisfying. The dreamer doesn’t really say what the “real” ending of the story turns out to be, although I suppose it’s with Gerald and Yen going off to the afterlife and getting married, while Ciri moves on to our world. I’m not sure how she’s supposed to fit into the Arthurian legends, unless as the Lady of the Lake? There were so many people who were given that title in this series though.
I suppose the legend had them all go out in a blaze of glory after defeating Vilgifortz and being captured by Emyr.
Spoiler
I was shocked when it was revealed that Emyr was Duny! And that Ciri really was his daughter. That had been mentioned in the game (I’m currently playing The Witcher III) but I assumed it was something that had been changed for the game. I was very surprised when it turned out to be true. It’s really surprising how much that one short story was central to the whole plot of the series.I also found the ending a little dissatisfying.
