Interesting descriptions of surgery. I wanted more on the politics though of how the NHS worked and how this affected heart surgery.

A fascinating and inspiring memoir of an exceptionally talented heart surgeon. I loved the descriptions and explanations of the surgeries, and felt great admiration for this matter of fact yet empathetic man. Yet another commentary on how bureaucracy is hindering innovation and adding further stress to doctors lives by publishing surgical success rates and requiring them to sit courses of no relevance to them. Really good read.

In depth and very technical

What an amazing life to read. The stories are fantastic. It is very technical so not for anyone who doesn’t like detailed medical explanations.
