Ugh love Ivan

Ivan had me from How to Shield an Assassin, his energy is just something unique and entrancing. You knew him finding someone to get his chaos would be someone just as unique, enter Aiden a sweet soul of a human who deserves someone who loves and cherishes him for all that he is. This found family is everything you hope for and cherish to have as your own. Truly great read, caught self laughing out loud so many times wad getting some great looks from people around me.

“So you’re owning the craziness, huh?” “Of course. Best way to be insane. Enjoy it.”

I loved Ivan in [b: How to Shield an Assassin], and I couldn’t wait to learn more about the mischievous and mysterious thief in [b: How to Steal a Thief]. Whilst this can be read as a standalone, I’d recommend reading book one in the trilogy first so that you can appreciate the inside jokes/references that the gang makes. The only real complaint I have is in regards to the antagonists—they didn’t really get their comeuppance.  There weren't consequences for their greed. Yes, Kyou technically robbed them, when he transferred the proceeds of the stamp collection to Aiden, but to quote Carter “It’s not stealing if you’re stealing it back.” I.e. They didn’t lose anything, because the stamps didn’t belong to them in the first place. I wanted to see them face legal consequences (for harassment, false acquisitions, drugs, bribery, anything!!!). They weren’t out of pocket by the end of the book.

I was happy to see that AJ Sherwood was going to give each of the criminals a story.
Ivan fell for Aiden in such an adorable way that I couldn't help but cheer them on the whole time.
Aiden is a great addition to the group.
I can't wait for Kyou's story though.

When Ivan is hired for a job to steal a valuable stamp, he breaks into an apartment and is taken completely by surprise by how this man, Aiden, is living. No furniture, sleeping on the floor, and no food in the fridge and he's completely shocked. He asks Kyou about the situation and they find out what happened to Aiden. When the man arrives, he's exhausted as he's finishing med school and trying to figure out his future. Ivan immediately takes the protective role and when things grow out of control, Ivan and his friends protect Aiden. It was sweet how Aiden immediately trusts Ivan, which takes him by surprise, and this leads to Ivan falling hard for the man, and vice versa. A wonderful story!
