This book took me about thirty percent or so to really get into. After that, the historical setting and interesting plot drew me in more. I like the characters, and I swiftly moved on to book two, which I also enjoyed. This is a book I would recommend to people who enjoy historical fiction and time travel romance. 4 stars.

I found this to be an interesting audiobook to listen to. Meg and her daughter find themselves in a car crash, except that instead of waking and finding themselves in a damaged car, they found themselves far in the past in medieval Wales. Uncertain if they will be stuck in the past or might someday find a way to return, Meg and her daughter must learn to survive and thrive in Prince Llwellyn’s household.
How does one find wind up starting in a car crash in Pennsylvania only to wake up in a castle in Medieval Wales, surrounded by people who have always lived there? Meg has no idea if she and her daughter will ever find a way to return to where she came from. And then she finds herself falling in love with the medieval Prince of Wales.
I enjoyed listening to this story. The Narrator did a very good job (as far as I could tell since I don’t speak Welsh) with pronouncing the names of the characters from both time periods. It was not at all difficult to tell from her narration which character she happened to be portraying at the time.
All in all, I enjoyed the story as well as the narration and will be looking for the next book in the series, (This was a prequel to the series and made for a fun little introduction to a series I had not previously had the chance to enjoy.) I will look for the next book in the series to see where the story goes next, Though whether I will wind up reading it on my kindle or listening to the audio version remains to be determined.

I really enjoyed this book, I haven't read to many set in Wales, and I found it very interesting. I am excited to read the second!

Felt like it was trying so hard to be Outlander, but just didn't hit the mark

Wow. This book was interesting to say the least.
I enjoyed the concept and the characters. The romance element was a bit far fetched but I liked it nonetheless. I did shed a few tears at the ending, even if I did think it was a bit rushed - it felt like it came out of nowhere and I didn’t feel satisfied.
Altogether, I did like this book and though I am curious as to what happens in the others, I do not see myself actually reading them. (I kinda just want to see the ending from Llewelyn’s POV)
As a side note, I’d like to point out that I couldn’t pronounce any of the names so everyone just went by what their names looked like.

I am so glad to have finally read this book after seeing it as an Amazon deal for so long! It was definitely an interesting read that took me longer than usual to finish because of the details of who didn't like who among the royalty of England and Wales at this time. I have never taken an interest in the history of Wales and how England even acquired the land, By reading this book, I had a really big history lesson with some romance fiction mixed in and it made me want to visit Wales someday and learn more about its history. I just that engrossed in the book! I was as heartbroken as Meg and Anna was at the end of the book and I hope there will be much more happiness in the next one.

Ok so this is a prequel...but the first I have read in this series.
I guess I'm wondering what the overall concept is.
Romance and time travel are there but not developed.
So I need to read more to understand.
The prequel ended so suddenly, it was unexpected and seems unfair.
I enjoyed the historical elements, will be interesting to see where it goes next.
