TRUEL1F3 is the finale of the Lifelike series. Even though I “only” gave it three stars, I very much enjoyed it, but I sometimes struggled to understand the characters and follow the story. 

Another of my problems was probably that I could barely remember what happened in the last two books. After the events of the last books, the world is at the brink of chaos. We still mainly focus on Lemon and her robot and non-robot companions trying to stop the evil forces. Maybe my bad memory was the reason I couldn’t fully follow the story or understand all the motivations of the characters. Preacher and Eve are both examples for this: Preacher’s character was so tiring because

he is a traitor again, and his fake death was annoying as well

. For Eve, I didn’t understand why she  didn’t just

unplug Ana but instead lets Preacher “kill” her. Additionally, it’s not well explained how Eve could free herself

. Besides this, the settings are still really cool, and the dialogues are fun. Some elements were kinda creepy as well, like this VR thing and Lemon’s clone. At the end, it’s no surprise

that Gabe is evil. At least Eve saves Lemon’s life, that was great

. 

In this final book, I still liked the characters a lot, even though they’re of course way too edgy. I love how they all bound over Lemon, and the found family vibes. Lemon herself is an amazing character, even though she’s a bit too edgy like all of them. Still, they’re fun and the different POVs are interesting to read. I also like Diesel’s and Grimm’s friendship a lot. There are so many characters that just deserved better, like Salomon or Cricket. Unfortunately, the motivations of the characters are not well explained or are just romance which is a bit boring. It’s not clear on which side the characters are, and I was frustrated that we don’t really know what Eve wants and why

she opened the last door

. 

All in all, the Lifelike series was definitely interesting. The world is bleak and giving Fallout vibes, and many interesting concepts are introduced and discussed. My favourite thing were the likable robots and the characters, even thought they’re a bit too edgy. Sadly, the story lost me in this last book and was in general the weakest part of the series with too many parties with unclear intentions.
