I didn’t enjoy this. Every time Omen or Owen (audiobook and can’t tell what his name is) gave Sorsha these little tests and she agreed, like stealing a hat from a police officer, I kept thinking wtf are we in middle school??? What meaning does this have and why would she not tell him to just f**k off? I also can’t quite figure out why she stays with them in the first place. None of this is her problem to deal with and if Omen/Owen doesn’t want her there, she can leave.

Okay, I don't have the brain power to write this as a coherent review, so we're doing dot points:
- this was a wee bit slower at times, and did tend to drag every once in a while? not super noticeably
but was something I noticed
- reading other reviews, I can tell some people weren't omen's biggest fans and I definitely get that. I had mixed feelings, sometimes the tension was spicy and fun and other times I wanted sorsha to spit in his face (in a mean way, not a kinky way)
- this is a general series things rather than this book specifically, but the weird parody song lyrics that are occasionally thrown in there throw me off, especially when present in super tense, high stakes situations (also kind of reads like 'not like other girls', 'quirky' typa thing)
- the heavier hand with the romance was appreciated, because as much as the story/urban fantasy setting, I truly am just here to see sorsha and her gruff but soft monster boyfriends conquer all troubles and live a happy poly life between the four of them (HOWEVER: there was a keen lack in the boys standing up for sorsha when omen was constantly undermining and insulting her which wasn't my favourite, considering they had to spend an entire book rescuing him from captivity in the first place...)
- snap. snap is always a plus, and automatically makes the book better whenever he exists on page. (even though he made some dumbass decisions, which I can luckily mostly excuse by the fact that such actions were at least in character?)
- massive props for being able to immediately make me download the next book to read the second I'm finished so I can get closure/find out what happens
- injuries aren't really consistent or realistic? girl was shot and then two days later climbing buildings? not the end of the world, I didn't come here for realism necessarily, but enough for me to take a second, step back and go... hm?
- pacing was a bit off, big build up for battles that then lasted 2 seconds, or extended training scenes/hijinks only for the plot to come crashing in out of nowhere?
Overall: I'm for sure continuing this series, because it's easy to read and fun story you can enjoy without requiring significant brain power. Which I often lack.

Snap annoyed me and not a whole lot happened in the scheme of things but I’m excited to see what happens

È andata decisamente meglio che con il libro precedente. Adoro i personaggi, tutte le ombre sono così umane

WoW the immaturity of this! Especially when one of them is supposedly epically old. HuH
