Because I know this author can and does write book I enjoy. This, however, is not one of them.

I already had my doubts starting it as I actively dislike enemies-to-lovers as a ... well, anything. A subgenre or trope or whatever. I just dislike it and a book has a lot to overcome if that's the main romance. I was dealing with it while Sean was being a total argumentative ass, because, I told myself, he wasn't dealing with his grief. I even dealt with it when Sean tries to do serious damage to Aiden during sparring and when he responds to an accident on Aiden's part by throwing punches and trying to beat him up.

I made it until the start of the hate sex, in fact. Where I was treated to this description:

'Sean wasn't too careful about it. The mixture of anxiety about being caught, his anger at Aiden, and his sudden lust for him made him made him as impatient as Aiden felt.'

...

Sean - who has been a total ass up until this point and 100% of the enemies part of the enemies-to-lovers - is... Well. ... Penetrating Aiden without being 'too careful' while likely legally drunk and still 'angry' at Aiden.

...

I'm sure there's an audience for this. There must be with how many of these type of stories are written. I am not that audience. Bye.
