I was looking for a book set in Greenland to fill a challenge and didn't have a lot of choices. However, I should have known I wouldn't enjoy this - it's about young people partying and sleeping with each other. It does have distinct characters and it has an interesting style, but I found nothing likable in the book.

A coming-into-your-own story, full of self-discovery, relationships, sexuality, gender, tangling past and present. Multiple characters tell the same events, so you see a complex view of events, but it felt shallow to me instead of the emotions it was meant to convey. Sometimes I had to go back and see who was speaking, and without a firm voice and sense of c9nnection, it fell a bit flat. The white space made the story rush by, almost too quick of a read.

the first greenlandic book i’ve ever read, pretty cool.

i quite enjoyed this short book with five chapters that detail the events around a night in nuuk from a different characters perspective. fun, fast paced story about characters in their early 20s, trying to figure out life in the way people in their early 20s do. i do not mean to be sarcastic or judgmental, just matter of fact.

This book is beautiful, that's the word I have for it. It's really cool to read something about young adults written by a young adult!!! And this is such a great diverse read! I also love the variation of text formats. And i love how even in the french translation, what was in english in the original greenlandic text was left in english, and the notes at the bottom of the pages were appreciated and not too invasive.

I resonated so much with this story. I can’t speak to Ivik’s gender representation, but Fia’s bisexuality, and the youth drinking culture were virtually the same as my own experiences. I was very entertained, it flew by and added bonus - mixed media
