I appreciated getting more insight into Joaquin Rosa's perspective on creating (?) Death Cast, and I can see why Silvera might choose to hold back details about what allows the system to predict deaths. This book will not be for everyone, especially those against insta-love//love at first sight, but it is a read that fans of They Both Die at the End will feel comforted by.

A lot of similarities with the other one, but that’s ok. I would have loved to know a series like this existed when I was a teenager.

As this was a prequel I’m so happy that we got a pov of the characters in the first book. I enjoyed book maybe a bit predictable at (obvious) parts.

great prequel to “they both die at the end” i’ve been debating on buying this book for like 2 years and then i finally gave in and read it and it was so worth it! If you loved following Mateo and Rufus, you’ll love Orion and Valentino, really sweet story. Many similarities i’d say but if you liked the world adam silver a built then you’ll love staying a little longer in it. I don’t think you get the answers you’re looking for but I think that’s a good thing!
