Ok so technically this book is a reread but I read it 4 years ago and I decided to read the entire Ruby Redfort series which is 6 book which are all roughly 400 pages. I decided to read this because after reading the first 2 books of the naturals series. My brain was actually going insane after reading those and not in a good way and this series is made for younger kids as the protagonist is 13 where as the naturals they are all 17. This book is very lighthearted nothing scary and as someone who absolutely scared of blood and horror I’m absolutely happy about that. I love on how they gave Ruby a personality not those really dry boring ones. And reading this just gave me the nostalgia of reading this when I was younger and this series is amazing for younger kids. Although I do have to say all the action does happen in the last 100 pages and it happens VERY FAST. But overall this book was really good but nothing that specifically Wowed me although I think that’s because I reread it so I remembered bits and pieces of the book which were massive spoilers but I remember loving this book when I was younger so think due to the nostalgia this book is a 4 stars and I would definitely reread this when I’m in the mood for a less scary tense mystery.
Minor: Gun violence and Blood

This was such a favourite series for me as a kid, and it still holds up as a late teen! I love how the story unfolds, Luren Child is a great children's mystery writer. And it still gives me the shivers when I read it late at night.
