Am I the only one that is fully Team Jericho? Maybe he's pulled the wool over my eyes but he's the only one I trust. It shall be interesting to see what happens next...

Still a huge fan of this series (in that I have already downloaded the next three installments), but I feel like this one had far less of a resolution than the first book. I mean, don't get me wrong, questions are still being answered, MacKayla is becoming more badass, and the darkness is still growing, but there wasn't as much finality to this book than the first one. I mean, there is a HUGE climactic moment that happens and then BAM! End of novel. However, I'm still reading, still enthralled, I like the way that MacKayla is developing and growing up throughout the series, but I kind of wish more had happened in terms of resolving some of the crazy that's involved. More on the side of a 3.5 than a straight up 3, but on to the next.

I enjoyed this book far more than the first book in the series. Looking forward to reading the next one.

RATING: 3 stars

I liked it well enough, but the overall plot didn't advance all that much and tbh it bothers me that the Fae are so overpowered, unkillable so basically we can't expect any fighting scenes like we usually get in traditional urban fantasy.

I'll read the third because these are fast reads, but I really hope there is some progression and some action and bad-assery. Humans seem to have zero chance in these books when compared to Fae, it's just too much of a difference to make this interesting.

You can find my review for book 1 of the series here. The plan was to review them all by themselves, but each book is so closely linked to each other, I think its impossible to do without spoiling things! Because of that I am going to be vague and hope you trust me that you absolutely must read this series if you haven’t!

Darkfever and Bloodfever were good. They weren’t OMG YOU HAVE TO READ THIS good for me, but I read them quickly and really enjoyed them. The same can not be said for book 3 and 4. Faefever and Dreamfever are OMG YOU HAVE TO READ THIS good. They are full of surprises, storyline, and action. A small warning, both do end with cliffhangers…. Dreamfever probably being one of the worst I have read…. EVER! It is going to be a long wait for book 5, Shadowfever.

There were things I absolutely loved about this series. There are also things that made me frown and things that disappointed me. Most importantly, this series grabs you by the shirt and drags you in, makes you care about the characters and what is going on in their world.

I love Mac, I especially love Mac version 4.0. Her character arc and the growth in her is captivating.

Barrons…. still an jerk. But book 4 warms me up to him and I can see all the soft goey nugget inside. I know I would happily volunteer to poke around with him and try to find more of it.

Barrons and Mac together…. they make me swear like a sailor. They are stubborn and pigheaded and I just want to hit both of them upside the head.

*sigh* How much longer until Shadowfever?

Yes to the observation below!
Spoiler The biggest thing we learn here is that eating Unseelie gives you powers. We learn new players of the boardgame: Dani en the McKeltars. Rowena with her band of Sidhe Seers. The spectre that follows Mac around is Mallucé who ate Unseelie, but got stapped by the spear, making all the Fae-parts (eating Unseelie) die. oh and Barrons tattoos Mac without her knowing it so he can track her down.

Is it just me or does Barrons get sexier and sexier?
