Loved this. Adorably cute relationship between two outcasts that centers around the loss of parents and drag racing.

This story crashed into my heart!! 😉 Leti and Jacob are two sweet little precious babies, and I wanted to give them both a big hug. But Jacob wouldn’t like that.

This is exactly what I want in a YA — rootable characters, found family, silly moments, emotional depth, and good pacing. And romance is a bonus.

I’ve had this on my libro.fm shelf for too long, and I’m so glad I was pushed to finally read it. I switched off between kindle reading and listening to the audio and recommend either format!

(Mostly clean YA with just a couple of mentions of sexual activity)

I wouldn’t say this ‘gripped me right away’, but I was definitely intrigued by this little bad4ss female lead and her world. Intrigued enough to read on, and before I realized it, I was 15+ chapters in and invested.

This is written in first-person POV, in the perspective of Leticia, the female lead. The neurodivergent representation from Jacob, paired with Leti’s adamant refusal to be less or make herself smaller for the sake of conformity is impossible to not love.

YA.
High school setting.
Racing.
Bullies.
Sexism.
Autism representation.
Orphan female lead.
Lots of space-related info-dumping (it was fun, interesting).
Tragedy.
Family secrets and lies.

Overall:

4 stars.

Thank you Dreamscape Media and Libro FM for the ALC of Crashing Into You!  All opinions in this review are my own.

This YA romance set in the world of street racing is exciting!  There are so many twists and turns that every time you think the characters are finally settled, something new happens.  I appreciate that each character is well-developed, even the members of Leti's crew.  The author shows her skill at crafting a deeply emotional story while still keeping her characters hopeful and believing in each other.
