A harrowing narrative on the state of today's world, written by a brilliant man who has witnessed first-hand the impacts of climate change and dwindling biodiversity that is occurring in our world. As initially depressing as it is, David Attenborough gives the reader a candid overview of the world's current ecological state, and highlights a path away from this slippery slope - as long as we, as a society, have the courage to listen.

This is such an important book for our understanding of how we are changing and damaging the planet and ultimately life on the planet that I have to give it 5 stars.

One of the most enlightening readings. This books should be really read by everyone, with no limits of age and background knowledge. It is the story of a life, our planet, our human history, an assessment of the path we're on and where it is leading us, how to arrest it and gain a more sustainable future for us, the future generations, nature and animal species. It is really complementary to the documentary that was simultaneously released on Netflix.

I would listen to Sir David narrate anything, even when discussing how horrible people are for this planet.

Excellent! I feel like this should be required reading for students everywhere. We have a chance to save our planet but we have to change!

Scary wake up call but if you listen to the audiobook you get added bonus of Attenborough's soothing voice!
