Fantastic. This was more an exploration of the novel and its structure rather than a "how to" guide.

walk away with wisdom, a list of books you'll want to read, and an important piece of advice: just sit down and write.

Had to read it for school, thought it was extremely dull and boring but for anybody wanting to write its probably more interesting

Es un libro corto pero grueso. Útil, instructivo, solo hay que darle su tiempo.

Some of the technical advice was pretty useful. But alot of this is just him refrencing books he likes and saying "remember this?" And half of the time his point was muddled in refrences that weren't clear.

This book put some things forth about writing in a straightforward manner and helped me not overthink certain things about writing. I think the most valuable thing for me was the different authors and works mentioned as examples of great writing in this or that way, and so I'm looking forward to reading those. This book in itself was not inspirational, making me think "I just want to write right now!" which would be a great thing for a book addressed to writers, you know, but anyway.

A must-read for anyone interested in writing, whether it be short stories or novels or prose of any kind. Llosa excellently breaks up the book into witty, instructional and inspirational letters.

I'm sure I will read this more than once. Very enlightening.
