No smh

May I PLEASE ask what "balance" between Heaven and Hell is Eden disturbing? What will she do? What role will she play? Why is Hell hell-bent (pun intended) in destroying her? Will she kill Satan? Will she be Christ's best friend? Will she finally kill her own mother (because someone has to)? I wish they would destroy Nina for being The Most Stupid Character Ever. She is just so freaking awful. Sasha is spot on with her personality and entire existence.

I love Bex. He's the most well-rounded character and there HAS to be a more suitable role for him other than acting as Nina's part-time bodyguard. Claire was given enough spotlight and Bex deserves more.

Giving Jamie a pass on this one, sorry not sorry

Review

Nina is having a baby!! That was revealed towards the end of book 2 and I did not want to spoil that in the book 2 review. Jared and Nina get married!!! There is drama at the wedding of course. The battle between Heaven and Hell rages on through this book because of the prophecy and Nina’s pregnancy. Everything is a continuation from the previous books. Plus, the Claire and Ryan relationship gets to grow and finally can maybe even be given that title (this is Claire after all).

The plan for keeping “Bean” (the baby) safe is progressed and it is a scary reality that Nina will have to give birth underground in Jerusalem to stay safe. Before that can happen, an unexpected character dies in an accident that was meant for Nina. Jared and Nina must hit the road alone for a few days to ensure their safety. Soon the journey to Jerusalem begins. I will say little more than I thought the ending wrapped everything up perfectly. I was very satisfied, while also being sad. It was not a perfect ending, however it was a great ending. This series completely sold me on Jamie McGuire, this was the first time I had read her. I plan to buy and read every thing she has published because this series was that amazing and I know I will be rereading this series numerous times to come.

Loved this and perfect conclusion! 5 of 5 all the way!

I am so sad this series is over. It was so great.

I want to see more from Eden and the abilities she will have.

Bex, I want more Bex! I would also like to see more from Ryan and Claire.

Like I said, I am just bummed this series is over.

Nina and Jared's story hooked me from the very beginning. The ordinary girl sucked into a world of angels and demons, good vs evil, proved to be a roller coaster. As soon as I read these I knew the audiobooks must be mine too. So, so good.

This series is so girl-ishly terrible that it's AMAZING. Oh man, I could not get enough of it, it was my guilty pleasure!

GoodReads Synopsis: She had seen the unspeakable.
She would learn the unknowable.
Now, she would fight the invincible.

In the third and final installment of the Providence series, Nina Grey will marry the wrong man, carry the child that was never supposed to be born, and fight a war she can't win.

Faced with the impossible task of protecting his new wife and unborn child against the throes of Hell, Jared Ryel is allowed no mistakes. Pressured to return the Naissance de Demoniac to Jerusalem, he revisits St. Ann's to learn the answers were in front of him all along.

Together, they must survive long enough to let their child save them - and the world

My Thoughts: Picking up right where Requiem left off…Nina and Jared and planning their wedding.

Because there was such a long gap between Requiem and Eden…I couldn’t remember who was who or anything leading up to Eden. I found it necessary to go back and reread the last quarter of Requiem to refresh my memory. GoodReads says Requiem was published in 2011 but it sure felt longer ago than that.

Anyway…I just love Jamie McGuire’s writing! I still need to read Beautiful Disaster, but that’s another story…literally. McGuire brought this series to a beautiful and fitting end. Everything had been building to an earth shattering conclusion and the tension just keeps building and building trying to get to the Jerusalem…this would have made for an epic Summer Blockbuster in the movie theater! But such a let-down once they arrive…all this hurry-up and wait was killing me. Several times I would have thrown the book, had it not been my kindle.

But Nina didn’t let me down. I’d noted in a previous “review” that Nina just couldn’t “see the forest for the trees” and once again, she made a monumentally stupid choice which no one could talk her out of…her one main flaw. Seriously, this flaw should have killed her so many times in the past! OY! I get that she had to do it otherwise what Eli told Jared would not have come to fruition…but couldn’t it have happened in a way that didn’t make Nina look like such a bonehead??? Can you tell I really like Nina except for when she has to make a decision! That would be my only gripe about the series.

It’s hard to say goodbye to characters we enjoy and I did enjoy Nina and Jared. I am certain I will be revisiting them again in the future!
