Despite the main character being an infallible archer, this series somehow missed the mark. It’s almost impossible not to constantly compare it to The Warrior Midwife series, and that’s where things fall apart a bit.

The more the stories intersected, the more it became obvious the amount of passion that was put into that story that I didn’t fully sense in this one.

It was well written, just as all of this author’s works are, but it made me miss the magic of the previous series while I continued on in search of the same spark in this one.

What a beautiful ending. Bali’s writing was flawless. She brought together all the pieces of the puzzle in a way that was so seamless and natural. Warrior Midwife had me in a chokehold. So I must admit I had high expectations for Altara’s story. This series for me started off slow because there was a heavier focus on the side characters. But surely enough it grew on me. Bali just has a way of telling a story, throwing hints throughout her books and drawing you in.

Women are the epitome of strength. Feminine rage was explored so thoroughly, I felt empowered reading it. The females in Altara’s story each dealt with different traumas, exiled for different reasons. That really brought so much emotion to the story. All paths lead to such a momentous ending. The reunion of the sisters, the islands and people. I couldn’t have imagined a better ending to Altara and Saraya’s story. Amongst the chaos of war, there was love, grief and happiness. So glad I stumbled across this series.

An absolutely gorgeous story. The conclusion of it was so good and the characters growth and development was amazing.
Will 100% read again from this author.

What a ride this series has put me on, this was the ultimate end to the series. I love Altara and Zale and their bond and how they have grown in the series. This was the ultimate ending to the 6 book series.

The biggest book of the whole series. When this book arrived I was immediately excited when I saw how big it was!
It's also the last book of the series and it feels so weird that it's over now. I have come to love these characters so much and the story is so good.
This book is a whirlwind of action and so many amazing but also crazy things happen. But there are also a lot of sweet and beautiful moments.
I absolutely love Malika and I would love a novella of her and Atax having some adventures together or something.
But honestly all the characters are so fun.
Although I'm done with the series now I'm sure that this will be a series that I re-read and will think about a lot even after reading it.
The author has a fun writing style that just reads really easy and I like that. I can't wait to read more from her!
