I didn’t like the overload of stereotypes packed in the first few chapters. It was a turn off initially as a Nigerian reader. I kept reading and I started enjoying the book, beautiful storyline. The author could have passed the story across without some of the stereotypes added from the build up of the story.
I liked the character Nana, such a lovely best friend.
Yinka, was annoying she wasn’t behaving like a thirty one year old woman.

3.5 stars. This was a wholesome read. The main character was a little frustrating at times but I think pretty relateable, especially in the context of her family culture and life.

“I remember the day I met him like it was yesterday.” No, not some C+ schoolwork or the diary of a teenage girl, but Yinka, Where is your Huzband? Page 23. Self-explanatory three stars…
