the real trigger warning is colorism, not racism. it’s so nasty how parents really instill these insecurities in their children. if yinka had a better support system maybe she wouldn’t have been so damn childish. nonetheless this book was excellent.

This book was great. Just the right amount of family dynamics, relationships, self-love and second hand embarrassment. Parts of the structure reminded me of Bridget Jones, but with more cultural and philosophical layers. Highly recommend.
