In general I think the book is really entertaining and pretty unique. It was definitely worth the read.

I struggled to warm to the writing style and Rhiannon as a character but I know that a that’s a key part to the narrative. It was just something so different to what I usually read but eventually I began to really like the blunt and gritty narration from Rhiannon and like the fact that she’s genuinely not meant to be that likeable.

I wasn’t too keen on the ending/change in character development with her pregnancy. I don’t think I’ll read the next one in the series just because the next book does seem to focus on that specific part of her character. But I’d definitely recommend this one for a fun and interesting read.m

Poorly researched, only sticks to diary format part of the time, humour is crass and cruel with a character who is meant to be an unreliable narrator but who reliable tells you what she's lying about all the time.

I'm not sure how I feel at the end of this book. There are parts I love. The beginning and the introduction of this witty but dark, and frankly mean, main character is engaging. There was a good chunk of the book where I was rooting for Rhiannon, even though her moral compass is clearly skewed.
I think things went downhill when it started becoming about the affair and her pregnancy. There was something uncomfortable with the age gap (though I think that's the point) but there was something that made it really hard to read those scenes without thinking ‘What on earth am I reading’.
My experience with the last part of the book made the rest of it sour. I did enjoy it, but not as much as I feel I could if it was just different. There's potential.

I have seen some comments on the remarks Rhiannon makes, particularly the comment on Taylor Swift. I have, in good faith, assumed that that's down to Rhiannon fundamentally being a bad person despite her rationalizing her actions. However, I do understand how these can leave a bad taste in the mouth.

I stumbled upon a spoiler
(Rhiannon having an affair with 18-year-old AJ and getting pregnant by him)
and I hate reading about that, so I decided it's not worth finishing the book + the sequels.

This is a light read if you're used to serial killer and dark things.

Rhiannon sucks. Not a shock considering she is a serial killer. She also does that weird neurotypical thing where she hangs out with people she hates. She claims it cover but still, not a very good one. She hates everyone so she is randomly ableist. It’s at least two times. She somewhat of mixed of doing likable things for the wrong reason and you know, being a serial killer who gets off on killing people. She only kills bad people, but she is herself a bad person. I love grey characters, but I can’t decide if Rhiannon is compelling or mildly annoying. She is definitely meant to be unlikable at time, with history that explains some of her behaviour.

this is funny but also pretty messed up at times but I enjoyed it.....I don't know what that says about me 😂 love the short chapters and writing style but the ending cut off a bit too quickly for me. I know it's a series and supposed to be a bit of a cliffhanger but it just didn't quite feel right. A bit too abrupt.
