Idk if every heroine in this series is going to be a former foster kid, but I wouldn't be mad if they were. I liked the characterization overall, pacing worked for me, I liked the expansion of the world building.

Deliver 10 grand or the missing hyena princess...or die.

Eloise faces an impossible deadline, betrayal, trust issues and discovery of her fated mate. Add to the mix her gorgon side going out of control and it makes for a great story. Never heard of a gorgon before? Neither had I, but think Medusa and the ability to turn people to stone.

Benedict, a lion shifter lawyer, helps to solve the mystery of what happened with Eloise's ransom drop gone bad. I wasn't expecting who was behind the betrayal and that made the story all that much more enjoyable.

This was the second book in the series, but can be read as a stand alone story.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Loved it! This was so good! I really loved reading about the heroine who was a half gorgon/half medusa and Benedict was so amazing and sweet <3 I really ended up like this story even though I didn't like that they jumped into bed so quickly. This is explained somewhat further into the story and I understood why in this book, compared to the other ones in her series, they got down to business so soon after meeting.

This is probably really about 4.3 stars. Not quite so awesome as book 1. More sex, less story. But an interesting bit of world-building you don't see much in modern literature --- gorgons.
