Well. That was sort of anticlimactic. I really thought this book was gonna be about something different, which is on me, but even at that it was a lot of circular problems. I liked Leafstar mostly and I liked a few of the other characters like Frecklepaw and Billystorm. Probably my least favorite so far, but that’s not to discount the good! There was some really fun clan dynamics and I liked learning about new cats and the rescue of the twoleg kit was a really fun and unique adventure!

Not my favorite of the series. I had a hard time getting invested in this one, and I felt like a lot of the conflict could have been resolved sooner if the cats just talked to each other about the issues. Leafstar kind of kept putting things off and not confronting the cats she had issues with/questions for and that made it feel dragged out. I did like the rescue mission for the twoleg kit, that was cute. And I really liked Billystorm. Despite it not being my favorite story, the ending was satisfying.

Read this immediately after Firestar’s Quest because it’s a direct sequel and I wanted to see what SkyClan was up to. It was good, but not my favorite Warriors book. The daylight-warriors were an interesting concept but their names lowkey annoyed me. Like, BILLYSTORM, really? I felt like I was being one of the super intolerant clan cats whenever the daylight warriors did anything because I was like THATS NOT HOW A REAL WARRIOR CAT DOES IT YOU ENTITLED JERKS PICK A SIDE. Anyway, it was still unique and interesting and I liked seeing Leafstar’s evolution and the growing pains of this brand-new clan. It was a different perspective and vibe than most of the books. The thing with the rogues (Stick and his crew) was kind of annoying and didn’t seem that relevant, but it did add to the plot so whatever. I still <3 SkyClan.
