It's like Christmas morning when I find a new Tijan book sitting pretty in my kindle queue...and Brody was all that and more. Different than your typical Hollywood bad boy meets shy meek girl. This one is unbridled, unabashed, unmoved by fame and attention. Quietly seeking the freedom of no confinements...the two worlds are polar opposites of each other and yet eerily similar. The fight to make it work, to settle into a different life and live instead of quietly existing. I fell hard for both lifestyles and loved unraveling the mystery that was set in front of me.

I am a fan of Tijan, and always look forward to a new release. Unfortunately, this is not a favourite of mine, and I have come away slightly disappointed. Even though there are the basic Tijan elements in this book they we love - lots of drama - some of the storyline was just so unrealistic.
The synopsis of the book is that a Hollywood golden boy star falls from grace when his brother passes in a car accident and is now considered Bad Boy Brody. To fix his image, he agrees to do a low budget film about a murdered woman. Once he gets to the farm where filming will take place, he meets in a very abrupt way, Morgan the daughter of the movie's subject. Sounds great right? And on the whole, the story is good but so much was added to try and give it something extra, it just fell flat.
I liked Brody, and Morgan for that matter but there are moments I had to keep asking, how old are they? I also felt there were some inconsistencies, which are hard to explain without giving away most of the book. This is not a quick read, there are over 50 chapters to get through and most are told in Brody and Morgan's POV. There is also a suspenseful element that I did work out to a point, I felt early on that a certain person was involved in the murder in some capacity. Not that that mattered, as there were plenty of twists to go along with it.
*I received a copy for an honest review.

It started out so good! Yes, it was a bit weird how Morgan only communicated with horses and was like a female Mowgli but over time the wild girl and the famous star thing worked and the sex was steamy, they were mending each other's wounds... until the plot dragged on for too long and the drama went from manageable to ANGSTY and COMPLICATED and not worth it.

I cried at the end. There.
It was beautiful, soulful and captivating. Morgan lives and breathes horses on her ranch in Montana where Brody has been sent to make a film about Morgan's mum.
Neither expected the other or the affect they would have.
The beauty of Morgan's relationship with her beloved Shiloh and Shoal seeps into your veins like liquid honey.
Thank you, Tijan for a book that shone a light on love: maternal, filial and romantic, but mostly on that which binds us to another being the way Morgan was bound to her herd. Not many of us are that lucky.

I really wanted to love this story. And it was a lovely story. The writing was great and the story itself was suspenseful and a bit twisty. A lot of it just seemed really far fetched and I didn't really understand some things about Morgan. I just had a really hard time connecting to the whole thing. I kept finding myself distracted and struggling to get back into it. I don't want to dissuade anyone from picking it up at all because I think I just was expecting a different story.

Everyone who knows me knows that Tijan has to be one of my favorite authors. Probably in my top 3. I always one-click her books because I’ve never been disappointed by one of them. I first discovered her when Family Crest Family came out and I’ve been in love with her words ever since. And Bad Boy Brody is no different. Different than her other novels, I was pleasantly surprised by the...I don’t know how to put it….the softness (?) of it.
Don’t get me wrong, Brody is still a beautifully broken alpha with a soft spot. But he doesn’t seem as rough around the edges as some of Tijan’s other male characters. Morgan is absolutely amazing. She’s wild and free, amazingly beautiful, and probably who my daughter would turn out to be if we lived on a ranch. The chemistry between the two of them is electric and believable. The development of the characters top notch--both main characters and the secondary. They each have their own motivations, strengths, and flaws. The secondary characters don’t seem like an afterthought, they are just as developed as the main two.
There are some really great twists and turns in the book. I would think I had a handle on something or someone and then something would come out of left field to change my perception. I love it when that happens. There is a little bit of drama in the book but completely different than what I thought I was going to get. I kept expecting a specific something to happen but what did happen was completely different. I love that she went out of the box a bit and did something unexpected. Have I rambled enough about how much I love this book?
If you love alpha men with soft spots, you need to pick this up as well as the rest of her books. Just go on a one-click frenzy. You won’t be disappointed. If you haven’t read Tijan yet, what rock have you been hiding under?

Just when I think she can’t get any better, Tijan delivers another book better than the last. Bad Boy Brody just became my favorite book, and I thought nothing would beat the Fearsome Threesome (Foursome when Nate is around 😉)!
