Very nice..... This one had a little of everything sexy vamps, romance, comedy, action & mystery...... I mean what else could you ask for? This was my first read from author Elizabeth Hunter but I do believe she has won me over and gained another fan......

I absolutely love this whole world and series that Elizabeth Hunter has created. Carwyn is one of my favorite characters and am so glad we got a chance to see into his world. I appreciated that Carwyn and Brigid's relationship was more of a slow burn- taking time to build rather than them having instant passion.

A spin-off series of stand-alone romances in the the Elemental Mysteries world.
The first one starts with Carwyn, and since I liked him from the EM series I thought I'd love this story, but I had a little bit of a hard time with it.
First off, I get that the age thing is something that just happens in all the romantasy's with fae or vampires or whatever, and I get that that comes with the territory to some degree. But it adds a little bit of an extra ick factor when the vampire knew the love interest as a child...
As to Brigid, I wanted to like her more than I did. She's the kind of character that I should like, but there was just something about her. Or maybe it was that I just didn't really buy into the chemistry between her and Carwyn?
As to the plot itself - this story takes place mostly over the same timeline as Elemental Mysteries, and I definitely would not suggest entering the world here because a lot happens off-page that you know from reading EM, but would just be weird and without context if you just read it here.
But, also, that means Carwyn is sort of missing from huge chunks of this story, while the focus is on Brigid investigating the drug in Ireland while Carwyn is off in China and Rome and wherever else. (It was nice that the relationship develops gradually over time, and isn't an insta-love situation.)
Anyway -
I am happy to see Carwyn with someone and being happy, but I just wish I loved this story much as he deserves...

I felt like I was missing something. I suppose this is a spin-off, a lot of names that should mean something for me but I have no clue who they are.
It was a good read. Interesting, a different concept about vampires, good pace. Worthy of Hunter.
I don’t think I’ll continue reading the series though, Carwin developed too fast. Jumping dates like crazy that left me dizzy. Again, waaay to many people. But I liked how the author empowered the MC, that development I agree with, it was beautiful.

Loved it! Of course! Are they going to get together? Are they ever going to tell each other how they feel? It was almost torture. But I loved it!

Loved Carwyn and Brigid
Friends to Lovers omniscient point of view
Standalone but you get more out of it if you have read Gio and B’s four books.
1000+ year old vampire priest Carwyn is questioning his role with the church after all this time, in part because he has found himself for the first time attracted to someone. Brigid has known Carwyn since he rescued her from a terrible situation as a child. She is now part of a vampire police force fighting drug dealers and her attraction to a priest! Will these two find each other before it’s too late?
Such rich characters and scenes and locations!
This world is just a joy to return to time and again.
There was a great twist in the world that was surprised by - Thank you for making such a intricate story!

I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this book, especially after I realized it was going to take me through all of the events from B and Gio's four books, but I really, really liked it because I really like Carwyn. And Brigid. They have a good story. A sweet story. I am very excited to continue in the Elemental World Series.

I loved this story. Elizabeth makes you really care for Brigid and Carwyn. I really enjoyed the parallel timeline with the Beatrice and Giovanni story. It makes Carwyn's motivations during those stories much more understandable. I'm really looking forward to more from the Elemental Mysteries world. There is so much more to explore with the Elixir still out there.

At first I didn't much like Brigit. I do enjoy the way this book weaves in with the first elemental series, well done.
