This book started off so strong and so cute. But somewhere around the 30-40% mark it seemed like a different, possibly younger, author took over. The writing style seemed to have changed? And I started finding punctuation mistakes. The story lost me. Sadly DNF @ 61%.

What I thought was going to be a “Hallmark” style fall rom-com turned into a trashy HBO Max novel. The beginning of the book had promise, but the overall theme of the book was over-the-top and so unrealistic. Then the last third was nothing but bedroom scenes that truly offered zero value to the book or its characters.

I hated this book so much, by the end I was rooting for the couple to break up.

*SPOILERS*

It started off well, but once the characters got together it started to go down hill. They became two-dimensional with their only characteristics being they were SOOO in love with each other.

I also DESPERATELY needed someone to tell Zane that he was deeply out of touch. He paid off her bosses so she could go to NY with him? He gave her a BLACK CARD like three days after they kissed? AND he was rude to service workers.

There were so many gross, patriarchal things, and her entire identity became wrapped up in him.

There was no major conflict they had to work through, and any time you thought there might be, it got wrapped up neatly in a nice little bow.

And listen…I’m not a book editor. I’m not an author! But I do write and edit for a living. And little missed details really bothered me. He says she said his aura was on fire? She didn’t. Nick is somehow knocking on his door the morning after his dad’s wedding. The house has a gate with card entry (and like the pettiest gripe of all: why didn’t the billionaire have a remote for the gate?)

Anyway. Glad it’s over.

This was such a sweet, cozy, fall read with amazing characters, steamy spice, and a touch of magic!

I love when two broken people find love and healing with each other! Zane and Autumn are soul connected. I really loved the clairvoyant aspect of this story. It made it unique. These two have been hurt badly in past relationships so seeing them let one another in so completely was beautiful. This book is so full of love and happy vibes. If you're looking for a low angst, feel good story this is the perfect one!

This is a kick your feet and giggle like a 10 year old girl type of read.

So much "then I did this, then I did that", inconsistent character behaviour and just cringe.
