My partner got me this book as a part of our book swap date. I really thought I was going to read a book that's exactly like Ninth House. Spoiler alert: it wasn't. I mean yes they both had very much similar vibes but this story ends differently I promise. It's eerily weird. I truly felt like I was dreaming of a dream. I didn't understand anything and even with the ending, I'm still a tad bit confused. Sometimes it felt flat and sometimes I was immersed.
The messiness of a life is what makes it truly living. Feel, wallow, enjoy and then thrive.

Eerie, odd, unusual but it will suck you in and, like me, leave you feeling disappointed by the ending.

The story sucks you in---what is going to happen? What is plasma studies? But I'm not so sure the pay off is worth living with these teenagers for 3 years, which is what it feels like reading the story.

Listening to this at the same time as the Lightness was a peculiar combo. So many languid afternoons. I was transported back to college, so much time and so little to do.
In the end this was a cool setting but not a great story.

utterly fascinating. made me feel a little foggy, a little uneasy. just ever so slightly off.
if you’re a plot person, this book is not for you. it thrives on firmly closed doors and a distinct lack of context—which is exactly why i loved it.

There could be something to the story. But unfortunately, the interesting part started at about 60% of the book. Up until then there were a lot of characters doing uninteresting things. The writing didn't do much for me so I was pretty much just bored for the most part.

I was stuck between a 4 or 5 star because this book definitely wasn’t perfect, but went with 5 mainly because of the feeling it gave me.
This book was so atmospheric, I was sucked in from the very beginning. I loved the eerie quality throughout the story, and the way the characters spoke to and interacted with each other. The mystery isn’t intense and you kind of know where it’s going, but the creepy off-center feeling is built into every page despite that, and I think that’s what I enjoyed the most. I understand that this book is not for everyone, but if you like slow, character centered books and the premise intrigues you, definitely go for it.

Ummmmm, I'm not quite sure what I actually read and what actually happened. It is a crazy one, that's for sure!

I feel like this book definitely succeeded in getting the reader to feel like the main character: lost in a fog, unsure of their purpose, feeling nothing.
