This compilation reminded me how much I adore the Riddler. The early sections (the spandex era) tend to drag on, but the later inclusions more than make up for it. Joker's Asylum II was one of my absolute favorites, and the last selection was touching, if simplistic, as well as visually gorgeous. I loved seeing how the riddles got more complex over time (and darker - not every crime is a robbery of a theme park, thankfully).

I had a rough time with this, especially the silver age books are not my cup of tea. What I liked the most were probably Batman's interactions with Gordon, but anthology books like this are always hard to judge as a whole.

Batman and his rogue gallery have been around for over 70yrs now and that means there's a lot of reading to cover.if anyone wants to read the essential villain story they can give this series a go.

This particular books showcases some of the best Riddler stories. A nice compact collection.
