I greatly enjoyed this book. Bluebear certainly enjoys his apricot tarts.

Ridiculous at times but undeniably the one of the most creative stories I have ever read to this day. Moers world-building of Zamonia is so fun

Thoughts:
This is my new favourite book. It is written with a very Vonnegut-esque writing style, full of spontaneity and frank humor. The novel is endearing; it is composed of type of foreshadowing you only notice after the fact, humor that can somehow manages to be both whimsical and dark without either feeling out of place, and genuinely surprising twists and turns.
I think that this is just the type of book/author for anyone who enjoys adult cartoons, The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, or off-genre fantasy... it is not for you if you get hung up on minor details, struggle with suspended belief, or prefer in-depth character development to sandbox-style setting expansion.

Synopsis:
In biographical style, Bluebear recounts the somewhat surprising entrance into self-awareness he experiences in his first life, through to his current life. His fantastical adventures take the reader over land, sea, sky, and desert- into a deep black cave, a mysterious city, an actual tornado, and literally through a giant's head. Throughout you are also given unbearably fascinating glimpses into the other fantastical flora, fauna, and citizens of Zamonia.

Favourite Quote:
Probably it is the fantastic recipe about 2/3 of the way through the book, but an actual quote I liked was: “I never trained, however, because I was a spontaneous talent. Practising spoiled my style.”
