Loved this book! Our baby is due in January so I guess I'll have to wait until then to find out exactly how helpful it is, but I enjoyed the author's sense of humor.

A fun concept that serves as a nice introduction to newborn care, but it lacks the proper depth one might be seeking when they are expecting. It’s the first parenting book I’ve read so I took some snippets and chuckled at the framing a good handful of times. Consider it as a simple breezy (I think it took me a couple hours) introduction to childcare. An appetizer before the real baby books.

The concept, that this is a manual, becomes belabored fairly quickly, but other than that, it's really good information in a very digestible way, with lots of charts, summaries, and indexing. A great reference manual.

This is a terrible, terrible take on human development. It is only fit to be a joke and I therefore wouldn't recommend it to any new parent.

Written like a humorous technical manual, the book does have good general information. However, the humor can be frustrating to a new parent who just needs the information quickly and isn't in the mood. This would be a good guide for parents or grandparents to read in preparation for a baby, but another book like the Mayo Clinic Guide to Your Baby's First Year is better once the baby arrives.

I marked for future reference the categories of massaging the baby, selecting toy accessories, cleaning the baby, and childproofing the baby's environment.

The first baby book we bought, back in 2006. It was hilarious! Now we get copies to give as baby gifts.
