I expected the exploration of mental health from the perspective of boy who institutionalized him self, but all I got was mere 5 days where he was in the hospital where, in my opinion, he did not do all that much. The movie was better.

Been in a bit of a reading slump since finishing It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini. I’m not going to rate it out of politeness to the author who died by suicide in 2013. I had a lot of issues with this book, but my biggest was it made me feel unwell mentally after reading it. If you have MIs, I don’t suggest. It is an own-voice record, which is better than most MI books. Just know if you decide to read it, please go in prepared.
