I love a good messed up boarding school thriller. This was a very gripping listen while I was on a road trip. It was definitely a little too YA for my taste at times and I didn’t love the insta romance that happened. I feel like the story could have been just fine without it. But I really was so hooked and had so many questions! I probably won’t read the next book since the thing that kept me hooked was trying to figure out what exactly was going on at the school. I feel like the way it ended didn’t make me feel the need to continue to the next one. An interesting story indeed

This book was gripping, disturbing, and painful in such an emotional way. It's going to take me a while to process it. It's heartbreaking and stunning and completely took me by surprise. My heart is still racing from the plot twists and chaos of this book. If you enjoyed the backstory of The Queen's Gambit (the orphanage and drug part) then you NEED to read this.

PG-13+ for language, violence, gore, and abuse. Trigger warning for emotional, physical, and slight sexual abuse

A truly interesting look at deprogramming in more than one sense. I realy enjoyed the progess of the girls and Philomena in particular. And the men of the academy agrevated me to no end. The worst being the knowlegde that people like them realy exist.
