Vampire meets Shades of Grey? A redo of the later Anita Blake books?
There were some things going against it. Typo on the 2nd page had me almost returning the book as I didn’t want to get invested if it was something the author sloppily rushed together in the hopes of some ebook cash (any spellcheck would have highlighted this mis-spelled word). It was followed up with 2 formatting problems that broke single words into 2 short odd lines - all in the first chapter. Amazing thing is that was it, the format and grammar of the rest of the book was fine. However, coming off those errors and right into a bit of detailed BDSM again had me doubting the author’s skill.
I did finish it, overall, the book was ok (yes, I’m being in-elegant in my choice of words). I haven’t read Shades of Grey and dropped the Anita Blake series when she went down that S&M path. It's not my thing, but obviously popular with many.
This was an easy and fast read with the action concentrating on only three characters and a pretty straight line for the plot.

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. wow...that is one word to describe this book. I couldn't put it down. it had me from the beginning and I was entralled. Clem is demon fighter extroidanire hired to kill smtg that has reeked havoc on the city... and not only that.. a vampire hired her. she needs the cash but know working with vampires is against the code. but clem is highly attracted to kisho and has a hard time keeping unsexy thoughts about him. motivational speaker Nic, is the vampire that hired clem to stop the demon child...but how do you stop the unkillable. at a rave, the demon child takes a shine to Clem aka pretty lady. clem can't see this cute boy doing all that carnage. kisho and clem manage to find the child only to hide when the most terrifying being they've encountered enters the room. clem has never seen sure evil and she knows the truth has been hidden from her. she is bound and determined to seek the truth. on top of that the mayor has hired her to extinguish the vampire problem but can she do it? will clem finally learn the truth? will she come out alive? great read!!!!

I enjoyed this fun, original urban fantasy. I enjoyed Clem's snarky, take no prisoners attitude, and the fact that her power is sex. I loved that the story was set in our world, but with a paranormal element. I loved the sexual tension between Clem and Nic. I couldn't put this book down, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

This book was a really pleasing surprise... I am not sure what my expectations were, but this surpassed them and was a really enjoyable read, and I am sure the series will get even better as it progresses.
The heroine (Clementine) may have a sweet name, but she reminded me of a darker, edgier Buffy... More grown up and less PG rated! She is just making ends meet hunting demons (primarily sex demons) with her not so hidden talents (sex aura), when a rogue vampire causes havoc. It is hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys (the mayor - who everyone thinks is 'swell' or the charismatic Nic - a vampire motivational speaker)... but Clem is working hard to fight for good... Or at least a pay check!!
My favourite character though is Kisho... There is just something about him, getting to know him is a journey in its own right... And I can't wait to find out more in future books!!!
I received an arc of this book and have left an honest and independent review.

I won't rate this, as I DNFed at about 50% and it was due to not being my cup of tea.
I liked the tone and the voice a lot and was easily hooked at first, but it was the constant reminder that she is hunting for "Sex Demons" and so on. I mean the word Sex is found 92 times in 271 pages.... So for me that just way overdid it. I kept on reading until I came to this:
So if that is your kind of book, by all means pick it up! The story was quick and fun enough to be well entertaining. It just isn't for me.

This guy was not someone I wanted to meet in person He was too much. Too pretty, too charming and way too hot. His broad shoulders and muscular arms contrasted with that pretty face.
I closed down the browser. Then I opened it again. I needed another look. There was no way you could take your eyes off him. He so wasn't even my type. The way he moved the way he stood, the way he spoke, was so strongly feminine yet masculine at the same time. And it all combined into a piercing sexuality.
So if that is your kind of book, by all means pick it up! The story was quick and fun enough to be well entertaining. It just isn't for me.

Clem Starr is a demon hunter who has sexual powers that can enthrall her prey. But once the Demon Child is woken up, she must join forces with vampires in order to prevent the Demon Child from committing mass murders.
I wanted to like this novel. It has a decent plot. But I disliked Clem Starr. She's a complete idiot that relies on her sex powers way too much. She also thinks she's hot stuff and knows everything about any supernatural force, including vampires.
Even the two vampires were just... meh. Sure, they didn't sparkle in sunlight, but they weren't really typical vamps either. I like twists to classic myths, but come on. They fed once and they just seemed completely human. Boring.
I found myself skimming this novel. I ranted more about how obvious certain things were that Clem was too idiotic to realize than how I felt about the book. The only reason I finished it was because I hate not finishing a book.
