I’ve been seeing this book all over the place and finally gave it a chance. I really liked the plot and the characters had depth, so I’m glad I picked this up.
I wasn’t, however, a fan of the way this was written. There were a lot of flashbacks that often fell in the middle of present-day scenes. There were also things that weren’t super clear to me, like the laws. I couldn’t tell if characters physically couldn’t do certain things because they were illegal or if they were just really strict rule followers. And I was kinda confused on scent matching given that pack members weren’t necessarily drawn to each other. Perhaps these things will be cleared up in other installments to this series (or maybe I just missed it in this book).

I picked up this book as part of a StoryGraph challenge, not expecting much, but it completely surprised me. From the very first lines, I was hooked. It’s been a while since I’ve read an omegaverse reverse harem story, and Havoc Killed Her Alpha reminded me just how gripping this genre can be.
The book starts off strong, immediately throwing us into Havoc’s harsh reality. Her journey is anything but easy, she goes through so much before finally reaching a place where she can claim what she truly deserves. The tension, the struggles, and the emotional depth all made the story incredibly engaging.
Overall, I gave it 5 stars, not only because I was in the right mood for this kind of book, but because it genuinely pulled me in from start to finish.

all over the place
The book goes everywhere and just seems to jump. The author tries to explain auras and fails. It’s a mess of a book and storytelling.

This was a lot of fun to read, but I think I preferred Mackay's "Shattered Omega" trilogy a bit more. I didn't fully connect to the fellas 100% but I was very close! I liked the use of flashbacks as a writing tool.
I will definitely be continuing this PoisonVerse books, because I am super intrigued (and I wanna read Viper's story for sure - he was so compelling). Out of all the characters, I think Caspian was my favourite even though he was a big ding-a-ling lol
