Is this my new favourite sally rooney book? Maybe. I loved it. Reflecting on the existentialism snd the complexity of relationships and friendships. I live how rooney views every relationship in one's life as equally important and complex. A brothers relationship, 2mtwo lifelong hestfriends, and mother and son, two new acquaintances trying to figure each other out. I just feel like I know all the characters in my life, they feel so fleshed out. I can see myself in them all too. The ending was also very lovely and hopeful which felt very inspiring and fitting to the title. Makes me look at the people around me and the experiences I have as having so much more importance in the formation of my life and me in theirs hopefully.

insufferable people with weird opinions yap about love, the economy, art, beauty, philosophy and god.
yes, that's it — that's the plot.

childish will-they/won't-they relationships, girls giving head, people who don't actually love their partners (seriously, what was felix's spiel with all his "i know you love me" instead of saying i love you back) and tragically mundane social commentary fill up these 320 pages of suffering.
the characters were horribly unlikable, i wanted to gouge my eyes out multiple times.

i enjoyed sally rooney's normal people, and conversations with friends was also fine, as well as her short story mr salary and i read this book as a preparation for intermezzo, but now i'm actually quite sure i won't be reading intermezzo anytime soon.

I love this author’s writing she writes character’s personalities so well. There is a sharp exact way to her writing even when she is writing about emotional topics she stays exact and succinct. I loved the characters and their flaws and personalities. I enjoyed the book but felt the ending was so sudden.

Sally Rooney writes in a very effortless way, and it’s easy to get swept away into the lives of the 4 main characters. I found myself cheering for them all at certain times or getting frustrated with them during other parts. A story about human connection - the good, the bad, and the beautiful.
