It's like a fanfiction that started in the middle of the plot.
The audiobook version is just terrible, it's like listening to it at times 2 speed and there is zero distinction between the characters voices.

Refreshingly mature and a joy to read. These characters are open, honest, and communicative. Yes, as with all almost all stories there's been hurt and mistrust with their previous relationships, but these ladies are willing to see where their crushes
may lead. Finally, a HEA without an abundance of angst.

I was drawn to Jamey Moody’s CeCe Sloan Is Swooning every time I saw the vibrant, eye-catching covers of the Sloan Sisters trilogy on Hoopla. Unfortunately, while the setup had potential, this one fell a bit flat for me.
CeCe and Alexis have a shared history, which makes their chemistry believable, but it also gives the story a rushed, novella-like pace. The plot felt like it was hurtling forward, driven almost entirely by dialogue—a pet peeve of mine. I prefer more showing than telling, and this book leaned heavily on conversations to move things along.
The climax and resolution were predictable, which made the story’s conclusion less satisfying. That said, I’m still curious about the other Sloan sisters and Moody’s holiday novella, so I’m not ready to give up on this author just yet.
If you’re in the mood for a quick, light read, CeCe Sloan Is Swooning might be worth checking out. It didn’t quite work for me, but I can see the appeal for fans of fast-paced romances with a touch of family connection.

the structure of the book is kinda weird, it’s repetitive, idk how often it needs to be mentioned which eye color the characters have, why is it described what is happening to a character and then retold in its entirety when the character is talking to someone else? yeah not my cup of tea

It was fine, but the plot left much to be desired.

I did not like the audiobook. The narrator barely took a breath between sentences and sounded rushed, like she had to get it all read in one day.
