Alice, a young potentially schizophrenic British lass, is transported to a world of wonder upon following a white rabbit down the rabbit hole. What follows is a disjointed series of events as Alice explores Wonderland, the world of her dreams. Your reaction to this book probably varies based on where you happen to be on life's journey. A small child may view this is to be an amusing story full of talking animals and fantastical situations. Someone a little further on in their years may view this as a handbook of things not to do. For example, if there is a cup on a table with a sign that says "drink me"... don't. If there is a piece of cake next to aforementioned drink with a sign that says "eat me"... don't. Aside from Alice's somewhat poor decision making skills, this is a fun children's classic that everyone should read at least once.

Enjoyable overall - it began pretty similarly to the movie I watched as a child, but morphed into a few different scenes (and skipped a few) as the story progressed. I enjoy all the playing on words.

Whimsical but also confusing and kind of nonsense. Exciting to read a story I’ve been apart of adaptations for though.

So strange
I've only ever seen the movie and never really understood it. I was hoping that reading the book would make more sense, but not really. Looking forward to our book club discussion in case that sheds more light on things.

Robert Sabuda's pop-up adaptation of Lewis Carroll's well-known story, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: A Pop-Up Adaptation, makes use of a Victorian illustration style to engineer magical pop-up pages. Alice's growing and shrinking, disappearing cats, tea-parties, and croquet matches all lend themselves perfectly to presentation as pop-up designs.
